This internship focuses on designing reusable elements and approaches for short-form video at JetBrains. Using your design skills and the results of your video app research, you’ll create a system to help others produce branded videos quickly and with confidence.
The source materials are casual recordings: someone explaining a product or feature, often combining a talking head and a screen demo. These videos don’t require a professional production team – but they do need to feel clean, consistent, and branded.
You will explore simple tools (like CapCut, Canva), and figure out how to:
Apply JetBrains branding using these tools – understanding which design elements (like fonts, gradients, or layout styles) can be used effectively in limited environments
Streamline non-professional video editing with templates – making it easy for anyone to create short videos about their product
It’s 20% about graphic design, and 80% about finding approaches for video content that are easy to use and scale.
You’ll be mentored by a member of the JetBrains Brand Design team and will have a chance to work with designers whose thinking, taste, and precision make them some of the sharpest people you’ll ever collaborate with.
Interest in visual communication and making design workflows more accessible
Confident visual taste and understanding of layout, color, and typography
Basic experience with Figma: understanding element styles, effects, export options, and file formats; familiarity with aspect ratios and pixels
Curiosity about video editing and a willingness to explore simple tools like CapCut, Canva, VEED, or Runway
Confident written and spoken English
