At JetBrains, we build tools that help developers write better code, faster. For 20+ years we’ve supported educational initiatives in data analysis, computer science, and software engineering. We’re looking for an intern to help grow and support our student community around JetBrains Academy and offline initiatives, working closely with mentors on the team.
Location: This role is based in Bremen, Germany. You should already be in Bremen (or able to be there throughout the internship) and comfortable attending regular on-site student events in the city. Hybrid work is possible, but Bremen presence is essential.
Supervised educational processes: supporting instructors and students, organizing courses
Support students and alumni across our community channels (Discord/Telegram): answer questions, route people to the right resources, and keep the vibe welcoming and inclusive.
Plan and facilitate community activities: online meetups, study groups
Own a simple content calendar for the community: announcements, digest posts, surveys, curated resources, and student project spotlights.
Help run offline student events in Bremen: meetups, workshops, hackathons (venue coordination, attendee comms, materials, check-in, post-event wrap-ups).
Keep the community knowledge base up to date (FAQs, guides, codes of conduct) and propose improvements.
Gather feedback and track engagement metrics (event participation, channel activity, pulse surveys/NPS) in lightweight dashboards.
Collaborate with PR, events, and marketing on student-facing initiatives.
A dedicated mentor and a clear growth plan.
A paid internship for 3–6 months, flexible 20–30 hours/week.
Hybrid setup with regular in-person activities in Bremen.
Access to JetBrains internal learning resources and products.
Potential extension or offer upon successful completion.
English at B2+ (written and spoken).
Interest in computer science/IT; a technical background is a plus, a formal degree is not required.
Strong communication and empathy skills, attention to details, and a habit of finishing what you start.
Solid organization, multi-tasking and time-management skills
Nice to have
Experience participating in or organizing student clubs/communities or IT events.
Skills moderating online communities (Discord/Telegram/Slack) and familiarity with safe-community practices.
Experience writing for announcements/emails/posts; basic layout skills in tools like Canva/Figma.
Basic analytics skills (formulas, pivot tables); beginner Python/SQL is a bonus.
