Here at JetBrains we do lots and lots of documentation. And not everything ends up in users’ hands – some of it is meant to help our colleagues, supplement project knowledge, and onboard new talent. This internship project is focused on developing crucial skills required to work on internal documentation.
You will be working as an internal technical writer in the Web Development Backend team, where we build and support JetBrains web infrastructure. Specifically, you’ll become a part of Forms Service – a project that helps us gather feedback from our customers and ensures it reaches the right destination.
Write new and improve existing internal documentation
Learn how to work with a docs-as-code approach
Collaborate in-depth with subject matter experts to extract knowledge and find gaps in documentation
Work with modern development tools, such as issue trackers, IntelliJ IDEA and other IDEs, and Git
Excellent written and oral English
Basic familiarity with markup languages
Willingness and desire to communicate and gather information from a wide range of experts
Attention to details
Interest in the IT, with general understanding of software and web development
Understanding of any programming language, Java/Kotlin especially
Familiarity with Git or other Version Control systems
Basic terminal experience
Basic IDE experience
