In the AI Assistant team we build AI-powered features for IntelliJ-based IDEs, focusing on developer productivity and seamless AI integration.
We are looking for a passionate Software Developer to join our chat team.
Due to the fast-moving nature of AI, project priorities may evolve over time. While we cannot define the exact project in advance, you can expect to work with the IntelliJ Platform SDK and contribute to AI-powered features within the IDE.
A likely area of work is enhancing third-party coding agents with IDE-specific context and capabilities, as well as improving the overall chat experience.
The estimated start date of the internship is October 2026 (discussable). The typical duration is 3 months full-time or 6 months part-time.
Experience with Kotlin or Java
Basic-level experience with Git
Understanding of computer science basics
Motivation and passion for learning
Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
Interest in AI/LLMs
