We are looking to scale our institutional presence in Europe. These markets are highly structured, and successful growth requires a "top-down" approach - building direct relationships with Faculty Deans, Department Heads, and Career Directors.
I am proposing we hire an intern to work with the Growth team in this region. This individual will provide the local expertise and linguistic nuance necessary to move our outreach from cold contact to institutional collaboration.
Institutional Access: In Southern Europe, university partnerships are driven by formal protocol. A local intern understands these hierarchies and can navigate the administrative "gatekeepers" that often stall external outreach.
Operational Context: They provide insight into the specific rhythm of their region, such as the Convenio system in Spain or the Convention de Stage in France, ensuring our partnership models are legally and culturally compliant.
Linguistic Precision: Academic outreach in these regions requires a high-register, formal tone. An intern with native-level fluency ensures our communications meet the professional standards expected by senior faculty.
Location Flexibility: To remain integrated with our internal teams, this intern can be based at any JetBrains office. We are specifically interested in candidates originally from the target regions who may be studying abroad and can offer a dual perspective. The new office in Spain would also give us the opportunity to hire an intern based there.
Stakeholder Mapping: Identifying the specific Professors and Deans who lead innovation and industry-relations within their faculty.
Communication Localisation: Adapting our value proposition to align with the specific priorities of Spanish, French, or Italian universities (e.g., focusing on national employability rankings).
The 2026/27 Roadmap: Creating a tactical calendar that identifies the optimal windows for departmental meetings, avoiding exam "dead zones" and administrative holidays.
Partnership Coordination: Initiating the first line of professional contact and managing the follow-up process for institutional agreements.
Designed to evaluate the candidate's professional judgement and local knowledge.
The Formal Outreach: Select a major university in your home country. Draft a formal introductory email (in the local language) to a Department Head or Dean. The goal is to request a brief meeting to discuss how we can support their faculty's career outcomes.
The Landscape Insight: Identify one specific initiative your university uses to bridge the gap between academia and industry. How could our tools realistically enhance that existing process?
Calendar Logic: Provide a breakdown of the 2026 academic year in your region. When are the two best weeks to pitch a new partnership to a Dean, and when is the worst time to reach out?
Hiring a local expert allows us to build a more sophisticated, durable presence in Southern Europe. This role provides the team with the "on-the-ground" context needed to ensure our 2026 expansion is both efficient and professionally aligned with the local academic culture.
